šŸŽžļø Black Film Festival, Wild Thing & Miami's Signature Bridge!

Check out how Miami's wealth, culture, industry, and real estate is booming this week!

Happy Friday, Miami!

In this week’s update:

šŸŽ¬ Black Film Festival Brings Star Power and Storytelling to Miami Beach: The American Black Film Festival kicks off today in Miami Beach, celebrating Black excellence in film and TV with screenings, panels, and appearances by stars like Gabrielle Union and Chris Paul. The five-day fest wraps Sunday with a free Community Day at the Historic Lyric Theater.

🌓 Wellness Goes Jungle-Chic in Little River: A new wellness studio called Wild Thing is set to open in 2025 in Miami’s Little River, blending hot yoga, sound healing, and cold plunges with Tulum-inspired design. The 2,500-square-foot space will offer a nature-focused escape in one of the city’s most creative neighborhoods.

🚧 Miami’s Signature Bridge Soars Toward 2027 Completion: Construction is moving full speed ahead on Miami’s $818 million I-395/SR 836/I-95 project, with two of six iconic Signature Bridge arches already completed. Crews are working day and night to improve traffic flow, safety, and connectivity — including a dramatic 330-foot arch rising downtown.

šŸŽ„ This Miami Neighborhood Did The IMPOSSIBLE (Wynwood)

In this video, I will take you through a very special neighborhood in Miami (Wynwood) that is doing the impossible in 2025!

🦁 Wild Thing, a Jungle-Inspired Wellness Oasis, Plans its Debut

Driving the news: A new Tulum-inspired wellness studio called Wild Thing is opening in Miami’s Little River in 2025, bringing a nature-focused, immersive approach to movement, mindfulness, and community connection.

Details:

  • The 2,500-square-foot space will be located at 162 NW 73rd St.

  • Wild Thing will offer hot yoga, breathwork, sound healing, cold plunges, and unique movement modalities.

  • It’s part of AJ Capital’s 25-acre redevelopment of Little River, just north of Little Haiti and the Design District.

  • Founders Alejandra Barraza and Brett Kernan are launching a founding membership program with early-bird pricing and perks.

Why it matters: As Miami’s fast-paced lifestyle continues to accelerate, spaces like Wild Thing are creating opportunities for intentional, restorative experiences that blend community, nature, and wellness. It’s another sign that Little River is evolving into a hub not just for art and food—but for balanced living, too.

The big picture: Wild Thing joins a growing roster of culturally cool neighbors like La Natural, Sunny’s Steakhouse, Ogawa, and Fooq’s—cementing Little River’s rise as a next-gen destination for both locals and creatives.

What’s next: The studio is expected to open in 2025 with a limited-time membership launch. Keep an eye out for events, programming, and early-access sign-ups later this year.

The bottom line: More than a fitness spot, Wild Thing aims to be a grounding community space for Miami’s wellness-seeking crowd—with a lush, eco-conscious twist.
