📊 Miami-Dade leads Florida’s job growth — thanks to a building boom: Miami-Dade is smashing construction job records with an 8.2% annual increase, while Florida overall lags. With wages climbing and demand booming, the region is becoming a magnet for skilled labor — though workforce shortages remain a growing concern.

🎥 My SHOCKING Miami Housing Market 2026 Predictions

In this video, I'll unveil my shocking Miami housing market predictions for 2026! Things are about to change drastically!

🏗️ Miami Construction Boom Spurs Employment High

Driving the news: Miami-Dade is breaking records in construction employment, far outpacing state and national trends as demand for skilled labor continues to surge.

Details:

  • Miami-Dade construction jobs hit a record 63,400 in June, capping five straight months of all-time highs.

  • That’s an 8.2% increase year-over-year, compared to just 1.1% growth statewide.

  • Florida lost 1,600 construction jobs from May to June.

  • Nationally, construction added 15,000 jobs in June, bringing the U.S. total to 8.32 million.

Why it matters: This growth not only points to Miami-Dade’s booming development scene — from high-rises to infrastructure — but also makes the county a stronghold for job seekers in a tightening labor market. While many cities are facing hiring slowdowns, Miami-Dade's growth provides stability and opportunity.

The big picture: Construction is the fastest-growing sector in Miami-Dade, far outpacing education, health services, and other industries. Local unemployment has dropped to 2.4%, its lowest point since January.

Between the lines: Builders are paying more to secure talent. Average hourly wages for U.S. construction workers rose to $37.20, outpacing overall wage growth. But hiring isn't easy: labor shortages, immigration policy shifts, and deportation fears are squeezing the pipeline of skilled workers.

What’s next: Unless labor access improves, experts warn that crucial construction projects — from infrastructure to manufacturing hubs — could be delayed across the country.

The bottom line: Miami-Dade is building fast — and hiring faster. As long as cranes keep rising, it will remain one of the hottest job markets in the state.
